The final of the Georges Baptiste Cup for the Alsace region took place at the magnificent Au Crocodile restaurant in Strasbourg. Over the course of the day, the students took part in a number of Olympic-themed events, including a technical workshop to identify dressing errors, an order-taking exercise with a sales pitch, the creation of a White Negroni cocktail, and the preparation and serving of a steak tartare.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, the members of the jury, including Mrs Jung, deliberated and chose Yann WEIL<\/strong>, an apprentice at Villa Lalique, to represent Alsace and CEFPPA Adrien Zeller in the national final to be held in Clichy on March 18.<\/p>\n

Who are you? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hello, my name is Yann WEIL and I work at the Villa Ren\u00e9 Lalique in Wingen-sur-Moder. I won the regional Georges Baptiste Cup in Alsace<\/p>\n

What inspired you to enter this competition?<\/strong><\/p>\n

What made me want to take part was the desire to test myself, discover my limits and go further in my classes.<\/p>\n

What makes a good ma\u00eetre d’?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Above all, I think you have to have a passion for your job and also love to pass on your knowledge, which is very important for me to be a maitre d’, I think.<\/p>\n

Which event did you like best?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My favorite test today was the sales pitch. I think I did very well in this test, I was able to guide my customer brilliantly.<\/p>\n
